PRODUCTS
Dobson and Beaumont specialise in the manufacture of roll threaded studs and bolts in high tensile alloys and stainless steels in sizes from 3mm to 100mm diameter and in any standard or non-standard thread form.
A large proportion of our output goes into power generation plant in the form of big end bolts, cylinder head and main bearing studs. We are approved suppliers of these components to Rolls Royce Power Engineering,
MAN B & W Alstom Engines and Allen Steam Turbines.
Another area of our expertise is the manufacture of small critical fasteners in alloy steels and titanium alloys for the racing car industry where the utmost precision and fast turn round are essential.
SERVICES
We offer high precision CNC machining facilities for general engineering components; our centreless grinding department offers plunge and throughfeed grinding between 3mm and 100mm diameter, and our thread rolling department can offer sub-contract plunge and throughfeed thread rolling between 3mm and 100mm diameter in most thread profiles in industrial use.
These services are backed by a comprehensive in-house calibration and thread measuring facility with measurements traceable to national standards.
In addition we offer non-destructive testing in Brinell hardness, ultrasonic examination, and magnetic particle testing to national and international standards
Where independent or third party witness testing are required we arrange this with fully accredited establishments.
Where sub-contract heat treatment or plating is required we arrange for this to be done by approved sources.
We are happy to quote for any quantity from a one-off to large batches, and stock significant quantities of mill-certificated materials to cater for shorter delivery times.
CERTIFICATES OF CONFORMITY
Dobson and Beaumont when requested can issue a Certificate of Conformity with components manufactured by us. This can be in our standard form, or modified to suit our customers’ requirement.
CERTIFICATES OF NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING
We can supply certificates of testing to the appropriate national or international standards for ultrasonic testing or magnetic particle inspection.
We can also supply certificates of Brinell hardness testing conducted on our calibrated testing machine.
INSPECTION REPORTS
When requested we can supply sample inspection reports on our finished products. These are carried out in our own temperature controlled area using calibrated measuring equipment with calibration traceable to national standards.
MATERIAL CERTIFICATION
All materials received by Dobson & Beaumont is fully traceable through our quality system, and most of it is purchased with supplier and mill certification of material analysis and mechanical properties.
INDEPENDENT TEST REPORTS
When requested we arrange for independent material testing at NAMAS approved test laboratories with Lloyds witness if required.
